C# Programming: A Hands-on Guide

Caleb Curry

Picking up a programming language can be challenging when you’re not given the right foundation needed for success. This course will give you what is needed to go from first-time C# developer to an intermediate or advanced developer.

Throughout this course you will learn programming principles foundational to all advanced programming. Not only will you know what to type, but you’ll understand why you’re typing certain things and how things work in C# and .NET Core.

We’ll dive deep on data types, arrays, enums, structs, control flow statements, loops, interfaces, generic lists, variable scope, and best practices for code design. We’ll also go over the key topics of object oriented programming including encapsulation, polymorphism, inheritance, getters and setters, properties, methods, access modifiers, static classes and class members, constructors, and more.

After finishing this course, you’ll be able to apply C# to build your own custom applications or to succeed as a software engineer.

Although this course does not have any knowledge prerequisites (a beginner should be able to follow along), there will be a nutshell of information and technical detail, so come focused!

What you'll learn-and how you can apply it

  • Understand (in depth) data types, control flow, loops, and object oriented programming
  • Effectively build C# applications by truly understanding why and how the code works
  • Have a good birds eye view of the core parts of C#. Even if you don’t use everything now, you’ll know it exists and will know what to look for when you need it
  • Leave with practical code samples that can be used as a syntax reference for future projects

This training course is for you because...

  • You want to fuel your understanding of coding and become a C# developer
  • You want a comprehensive view of C# and programming principles
  • You don’t want to waste time searching the web for information. Get all the info in one place
  • You enjoy hands on examples that make coding fun and real

Prerequisites

  • No knowledge prerequisites required, but be sure to bring your brain and a smile!

Course Set-up - Please have Visual Studio Installed prior to starting this course. I recommend you get the “Hello World” console application started to be sure you have everything set up. - I will have a C# Syntax Reference Guide or Example Code available for viewing and prep
