This Live Training will set you up to take advantage of DAX to turbo charge your Power BI solutions. We start with an existing Data Model and then progresses towards building a multitude of common functions to enhance and optimize the model for Self-Service. We will lay the groundwork to get you up and running (in the right direction) with DAX. The target audience and pace of course is geared towards business users who are familiar with Power BI and/or Excel and want to leverage these technologies more to support reporting.

  • Learn what DAX is and why you would want to use it
  • Write basic well-formed DAX expressions quickly and efficiently
  • Move beyond basic DAX by using functions to build powerful expressions that benefit end users and promote maintainability

This training course is for you because...

  • You are a business power user that wants to build a solid foundation of data for end users to consume
  • You have learnt Power BI or PowerPivot and you want to further enhance your Data Models to support Self-Service
  • You are either new to DAX and want to ensure that you are on the correct path

Prerequisites

  • Some exposure to Power BI or Excel data modeling
  • Basic experience with Power BI or Power Pivot
  • Basic experience writing Excel Formulas
  • Basic familiarity with relational databases (especially relationships)
